Our Story

Our Company was founded in 1998, as Koeckeritz Iron and Steel, in a 600 sq. ft. lean-to, off the back side of a pole barn, on our family property in Afton, Minnesota. Having spent many years in the family excavating business, as well as having an industrial welding and manufacturing background, Galen found there to be many holes in the attachment market of the time.

While there was a plethora of “High End” products for well-to-do contractors, and a flood of very “Low Grade” products for occasional use homeowners, there was a severe lack of cost-effective offerings for daily use homeowners, farmers and small companies, who needed highly durable products at a fair price.

It is with these clients’ needs in mind that Galen developed a unique and high-quality product line, at a very fair price. In 2003 Lois, with her decade plus in the manufacturing industry, completed her welding degree with honors at Dunwoody College of Technology, and came on as our primary full-time welder. By that point, our production was around 75 to 100 units a year. We built a reputation for well-made, purpose-built equipment, and had about 35% of our clients be repeat customers each year, in addition to 2 dealers and several corporate contracts.

In 2014 we incorporated as Minnesota Implement Inc. and picked up a few more dealers for our retail product line, by then, production hit an average of 160 units a year out of our tiny leaky shop.

By 2019 production of our common retail product line was floating consistently between 170 and 300 units a year, and we were consistently building large complicated robotic units for several large corporate contracts. With that stable growth, we purchased the 5000 sq. ft. hardware store in West Concord, Minnesota with the plan to set it up as our retail center, warehouse, and equipment dealership. In 2020, AJ, an antiquities dealer and professional artisan jeweler of 40 years, joined our team to help us grow, and in 2022 she became an invested partner. When COVID shut everything down, we moved, full-time, to West Concord. We then purchased a 6000 sq. ft. welding and fabrication shop, and a 6000 sq. ft. warehouse in town, and set forth our plan to grow our company from a 3-person operation to a 20-to-30-person company by the end of the decade.

Our Primary Products are custom skid steer and utility tractor attachments built directly to fit your needs. We specialize in Snowplows and Tree Pullers that are built much differently than most other products on the market. In addition to our product line, we offer garden trellises, steel fabricated artwork, prototype manufacturing, short-run fabrication, and repair work, as well as re-engineering and modification of mechanical devices.
